In the past, no Arab home was without the jarra—the essential vessel for drinking and hydration. It was traditionally handcrafted from clay, and its hidden strength lay in its ability to keep water cool and pure until the end of the day.
At Qormuz, we revive the classic shape of the jarra for our tables, while ensuring it suits modern daily uses such as tea, coffee, and more.
The colors reflect the identity of regions across the Kingdom:
Green: Inspired by the art of Al-Qatt Al-Asiri, a traditional interior wall decoration practiced by the women of Asir.
Blue: Reflects the colors of rawasheen and mashrabiyas that adorned the façades of Hijazi homes, extending from the Arabesque style known for decorating Islamic architecture.
Yellow: Inspired by Al-Zari, the exquisite golden textile intricately embroidered along the edges of Al-Ahsa bishts and cloaks—an art unique to the Eastern Province.
Red: Represents the craft of Al-Sadu, widely practiced in the Northern region, characterized by its dominant red hues derived from the natural environment.
Brown: Reflects the traditional Najdi mud houses, showcasing the aesthetic beauty of the Central region and the creative artistic spirit of its people in the past.
